The stone. The center is a lab grown emerald of 4 carats, a long step cut rectangle with clipped corners, clean lines and a hall of mirrors flash. F color sits in the colorless range. VVS clarity means any inclusions take a loupe to find. Lab grown diamonds are real diamonds, grown above ground with the same hardness, fire and brilliance as mined stones, at a fraction of the price.

The setting. Four claw prongs with round and baguette accent diamonds along the band, with 1.1 carats of lab grown round and baguette diamonds beside the center. Every stone is held open to the light. The band is about 1.9 mm wide and the ring weighs about 3.0 grams in 14K gold. Weight changes a little with size.

Size and fit. Sizes 4 to 9 with the half sizes, in yellow gold, white gold or rose gold. White gold keeps the whole ring bright. Yellow and rose gold put a warm frame around a colorless stone. Care. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush under the stone where lotion collects. Keep it away from chlorine and harsh cleaners, store it apart from other pieces, and take it off for heavy work.
